About

Julie RN -
Julie has been practicing in the field of Hospice for over 15 years.

In Michigan, she created a Non Profit Organization, which helped any individual in need of medical supplies or equipment, obtain them at no cost.  This organization has expanded and is still successfully running.

In Nashville, Tn, Julie partnered with the Grand Ole Opry, and started a program where Hospice patients and a caregiver, would be able to go and enjoy a night at the Opry, as well as tour the backstage area and meet the artists.  She was nominated by her peers for, "Tennessean Nurse of the Year".

In Nashville, Julie also participated with other Hospice Professionals in a Simulation Lab, where they instructed Physicians, Professors, Social Workers, Chaplains and many more disciplines on how to communicate with their patients/clients that they were dying.  And instruction on how to refer them to End of Life Care.  While dealing with the different emotions that surfaced.

Julie also wrote and published a teaching manual that is used nationwide about how to use a "Comfort Kit".

People ask, "How can you do Hospice?"  It is very hard and sad because we are there for the worst day of someone's life.  I can do Hospice because I know we are able to make that worst day a little bearable by helping patients and families be as comfortable as possible.

- Sheryl, Hospice RN, Florida
